Biographical sketch and research interests

I am a Ph.D. candidate and Dornsife Doctoral fellow at the University of Southern California. My research interests include peace and conflict studies, economic development, statistical programming, and data visualization. My dissertation focuses on actor behavior in conflict zones. I explore the measurement of territorial control in asymmetric intrastate wars using event data and machine learning methods. In other work, I use sub-national level data and computational methods to understand when governments employ welfare spending as a strategic tool to combat insecurity.
