Biographical sketch and research interests

My name is Margaret “Peggy” McWeeney. I’m a Ph.D. Candidate in Government and Politics at the University of Maryland. My work and dissertation concentrates on rebel governance and state accommodations both in and out of civil war. Currently, I am working on an article conceptualizing rebel legitimacy and co-authoring a piece on the social foundations of rebel groups. I am also a proud member of Visions in Methodology (VIM), The Society for Political Methodology, American Political Science Association (APSA), and the Southeast Asian Research Group (SEAREG).
