Biographical sketch and research interests

I am a PhD candidate in Government at Harvard University, a graduate affiliate of the Institute for Quantitative Social Science, and a 2015-2016 fellow at the Center for American Political Studies.  I specialize in causal inference and field experiments,  spatial/geographic analysis, and “Big Data”, tools with which I study the consequences of context on political and civic behavior. My dissertation project examines the extent to which voters’ exposure to inequality and poverty changes their political preferences.  Through a series of empirical studies that utilize experimental and quasi-experimental methods, I leverage variation in exposure that stems from physical space, geography, and context to explore these issues.
